Re: “A Title For Orthodox Women Spiritual Leaders?” Opinion, Nov. 17: I have a suggestion for a title, “Rabbi”!
This whole controversy is just one more absurd indication of men trying (and succeeding) to usurp all the important roles, make all the decisions and retain their omnipotence in Judaism. The women who study and earn the title should demand the title that they so deserve.
The time has come for “Modern Orthodoxy” to actually be “modern.” In the meantime, you will continue to lose dedicated, smart, religious women pioneers in Judaism.
