Ironically, George Soros has blamed Israel in the past for anti-Semitism, while simultaneously engaging in the kind of financial manipulation that has been perceived by some as the province of “Jewish bankers” (“George Soros As Scapegoat,” Editorial, Dec. 14).
I don’t believe that Soros is mainly targeted as a Jew, but as a very wealthy leftist who has spent billions of dollars on his left-wing causes. He is targeted by right-wingers in the same way that leftists target Sheldon Adelson or the Koch brothers. The fact that Soros is nominally Jewish should not shield him from sharp criticism.
