Unfortunately, the points made in the anti-New York Times Opinion article by David Bernstein (“Review Shows Times’ Institutional Bias Against Israel,” May 17) could apply as well to The Jewish Week, where, in a same-page accompanying opinion piece there is a negative caption that “Netanyahu’s re-election ensures the continuing erosion of the ideal of a Jewish and democratic state.”
Calling for The Times to “adjust its news and editorial coverage,” Mr. Bernstein notes that “such a move might not win back all the lost subscribers but it might restore the paper’s proper place in the consciousness of its most loyal readership.” The same adjustment could well apply to The Jewish Week, both in its circulation and its readers’ place of consciousness.

Editor’s Note: The quote in question, “Netanyahu’s re-election ensures the continuing erosion of the ideal of a Jewish and democratic state,” is not a caption accompanying a photograph. It is a quote pulled from Berel Lang’s opinion article, “Netanyahu and Trump: The Big Difference,” and reflects the opinion of the author, not The Jewish Week.
