JERUSALEM (JTA) — Israeli tanks fired at a Hamas position in Gaza after soldiers came under fire while working on the coastal strip’s border with Israel.
Israeli news reports said the Hamas position was destroyed.
According to the Israeli army, the soldiers were carrying out “routine activities” near the southern Gaza border fence on Thursday morning when they were fired upon from inside Gaza. No Israeli soldiers were injured in the attack, for which no group in Gaza has claimed responsibility.
