JERUSALEM (JTA) — An Arab-Israeli man jumped the security fence in southern Israel and crossed into the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army said.
The man, identified as a Bedouin, entered central Gaza on Tuesday, according to the Israel Defense Forces. He is the third Israeli to enter Gaza and not return.
The incident is under investigation, according to the IDF. An Israeli television station reported that the man, whose name and age were not made public, is suffering emotional distress.
Hamas has been holding two Israeli men who crossed into Gaza separately for nearly two years. The terrorist group is also holding the bodies of two soldiers captured during the 2014 Gaza war and believed to be dead.
