(JTA) — Israel is reportedly set to open a diplomatic mission in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.

Citing an unnamed senior official, Haaretz reported Friday that the mission would be accredited not to the UAE government, but to the International Renewable Energy Association, an international organization headquartered in Abu Dhabi. The mission is due to be inaugurated in the coming weeks.

Dore Gold, the Israeli Foreign Ministry director general, was in Abu Dhabi Tuesday for a meeting of the IRENA Council.

According to Haaretz, countries are typically represented in IRENA by a diplomat at their embassies in Abu Dhabi. None of IRENA’s 145 member states has a mission accredited solely to the organization.
