JERUSALEM (JTA) — A record number of travelers were set to pass through Israel’s Ben Gurion International Airport.
Nearly 80,000 people flew in and out of the Tel Aviv-area airport on 457 flights on Thursday, Globes reported, making it the most traveled day ever at the airport.
Some 2 million people were expected to fly in and out of Ben Gurion on international flights during the month of August, making it the most traveled month ever, the business daily reported.
Air traffic was up in July as well, with 20 percent more passengers and 10 percent more flights over the previous year.
