Wedding Music Too Loud

Kudos to Jonathan Mark for calling attention to the ultra-loud, overly-long-played music now in vogue at Jewish weddings (“When Did Weddings Get So Loud?”, Nov. 30).

At a recent wedding my wife and I attended, I posed a question to the leader of the band after an ear-splitting, headache-producing 45-minute dance session. I said: “The New York Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra consists of 110 musicians, and they make less noise than your seven pieces. Why?”

His answer: “Good question.”
