Barak Ravid – @BarakRavid

Looking for wonky insider scoops on Israeli politics? Then it’s worth keeping up with Barak Ravid’s Twitter feed.

A former analyst in Israel’s 8200 signal intelligence unit, Ravid worked as diplomatic correspondent for the NRG website and later in the same position for Haaretz, which he swapped in 2017 for Channel 10. He now also writes for the U.S.-based Axios site.

On Twitter, he shares with followers not only exclusives that he gleans from his extensive network of sources, but also sights, sounds and flavors of his many trips around the world in press pools covering state visits by senior Israeli politicians.

A chunk of his feed is notably devoted to criticism of Netanyahu.

A prodigious retweeter, Ravid also offers elaborate analyses of rarely explored subjects, such as China’s economic power in Israel.
