Regarding “Jewish-Black Alliance Hardly A Film Romance” (Oct. 13): This is such a bizarre article on such an important subject. Jonathan Mark uses the flimsiest collection of quotes when there is a vast literature to draw on regarding the complex history between African Americans and Jews. Moreover, if he wants to examine “what really happened,” the last place to look for answers is in Hollywood films. Does he expect Hollywood to provide an accurate version of Jewish history, African-American history or anything else?
Hollywood always distorts history in annoying to outrageous ways. I expect much better from The Jewish Week than what we see in this piece.
