JERUSALEM (JTA) — A Palestinian woman was critically wounded by Israeli troops after she stabbed an Israeli soldier guarding the entrance to a West Bank settlement.
The woman, reported to be in her 20s, on Thursday morning used a screwdriver with a white handle to stab the soldier guarding the entrance gate to the Mevo Dotan settlement in the northern West Bank, according to the Israel Defense Forces.
Other soldiers at the scene shot the assailant, critically wounding her, the IDF said. She was treated at the scene and then evacuated to Hillel Yaffe hospital in Hadera for treatment. The soldier was taken to the same hospital.
