(JTA) — The Israeli model Bar Refaeli has given birth to her first child — a healthy baby girl.
Weighing 7 pounds, the baby was born at the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center, which is also known as Ichilov Hospital, on Thursday, Israeli media reported. She was named Liv.
Refaeli, 31, and her husband, businessman Adi Ezra, both thanked the hospital, staff and doctors for helping deliver the couple’s daughter, according to Israel’s Channel 2.
Refaeli is considered Israel’s leading female model and was featured on the cover of the 2009 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
Over the past nine months, she had been documenting her growing baby bump on social media. Just three days ago, Refaeli posted a side-by-side snap with her friend Valentina Micchetti that required a double take.
One picture shows Refaeli hugging her heavily pregnant friend in Ibiza in 2013. The other shows the reverse in Tel Aviv, with the women switching outfits.
“We didn’t realize we were making memories, we just knew we were having fun,” she captioned the image on Twitter.
Last month, Refaeli and Ezra enjoyed a romantic getaway in Spain ahead of their baby’s arrival. They were wed in September.
Refaeli, an “X-Factor Israel” host and swimsuit designer, shared a selfie of the couple in Barcelona, calling her husband “my favorite human.”
She is a former girlfriend of the Hollywood film star Leonardo DiCaprio and in 2012 was voted No. 1 on Maxim magazine’s Hot 100 list.
Ezra, 41, is heir to his grandfather’s company, Neto Group, one of the five leading food conglomerates in Israel.
