As if we didn’t have enough kvell-worthy Natalie Portman news this week, we just got another round to keep us fangirling. Hollywood sources report that Portman will star as United States Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg (yes!) in “On the Basis of Sex," a biopic about the life and career of the first Jewish female justice.

The film will follow Ginsburg’s bumpy road to becoming the second female justice after Sandra Day O’Connor. President Bill Clinton appointed Ginsburg to the Supreme Court in 1993.

The producers are hoping to start filming by the end of the year.

Over the course of her lengthy — and widely successful — career, Ginsburg has made an indelible imprint on the Supreme Court, and at 82 years old, shows no signs of slowing down.

Ginsburg is known for promoting a liberal platform, and is a staunch courtroom advocate for the advancement of women’s rights. Just recently, she took down same-sex marriage challengers in court.

And what better person to rock the trademark Ginsburg jabot than fellow MOT and Ivy-League alumna? Both were listed on the Time 100 — Portman in 2008 and Ginsburg this year— and both are strong liberals.

But the big question remains, should Portman win an Oscar for this role, will she display it? We sure hope so …
