Rabbi Joshua Davidson writes “neither Esther nor Ahasuerus are true heroes in the Purim story” (“Purim Drama In Washington Has No Heroes,” Opinion online).
Who is a true hero without faults of his or her own? Esther had a discussion with Mordechai and did the right thing in a most ingenious manner. I laud her for finding the way to the king’s heart and to Haman’s weaknesses.
