(JTA) — Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust museum and memorial, was ranked among the top 10 museums in the world for the second straight year.
The website TripAdvisor rated the Jerusalem site 10th among the 25 museums in its Travelers’ Choice awards based upon online ratings and comments by tourists and travelers.
The rankings, which were released last week, placed Yad Vashem behind institutions such as the top-rated Art Institute of Chicago and the second-place National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City, but ahead of heavyweight attractions such as the Louvre and the British Museum.
Yad Vashem placed fourth in last year’s rankings. According to its website, the museum draws some 1 million visitors per year.
