(JTA) — Keren Kayemeth L’Israel-Jewish National Fund has raised $4 million worldwide to provide portable bomb shelters for Israeli communities near the border with Gaza.
The organization estimates that the funds will pay for some 160 shelters, according to a statement released on Tuesday by the JNF. The shelters will be placed on streets in southern communities. Twelve of the shelters are slated to go to Bedouin communities in the area.
