Drake invaded “Saturday Night Live” this week, serving as host and musical guest. Here’s what we learned: The guy can act, and watching him get bar mitzvahed never gets old.
The rapper formerly known as Aubrey Graham didn’t waste any time tapping into the comedic potential of his interesting background. Taking the stage for his opening monologue, Drake announced his nationality (Canadian), his big break (the teen drama “Degrassi: The Next Generation”), as well as what he called “another fun fact” (he’s Jewish).
“Having a Jewish mother and a black father made for a very interesting bar mitzvah experience,” he said.
Cut to the big event, where a kippah-clad Drake (or “Drakob” per his overbearing sketch mom) busted out a rap to the tune of Hava Nagila.
With lines like, “Please don’t forget I’m black, please don’t forget I’m Jewish. I play ball like Lebron and I know what a W2 is,” it’s sure to become a bar mitzvah classic.
