Jewish groups are responding to the devastation that Typhoon Haiyan left behind in the Philippines, where it is feared that more 10,000 people may have lost their lives.
The Israeli disaster relief organization IsraAid has sent an emergency response team to the Philippines, and the Israeli military dispatched representatives to determine how Israel can help. The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee is also looking into how it can be of assistance.
Among the American Jewish groups raising money to aid typhoon victims are the JDC, Jewish Federations of North America and the American Jewish World Service.
