This evening kicks off season three of Bravo’s “Shahs of Sunset,” a show that appears to possibly be worse for the Jews than another Bravo reality show we love to (mostly) hate, “Princesses: Long Island.”
While “Shahs,” set in Los Angeles’ Persian community is not, like it’s Jappy sibling, a specifically Jewish show — the cast is made up of both Muslims and Jews of Iranian descent — the debauchery in the promo clip is interspersed with specifically Jewish traditions.
We’re talking nudity, spray tanning, and enemas, with some shofar blowing and huppah action thrown in for good measure. Eek.
What does actually look interesting, though, is the crew’s big trip to the Middle East, where we assume they will investigate and connect with their roots. So maybe it won’t be all bad.
We’re just going to have to tune in at 10 to find out. And to fill that big hole in our TV lineup’s guilty pleasure department .
