JERUSALEM (JTA) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered earthquake drills in schools following four minor quakes in the country over the past several days.
Netanyahu on Monday also said instructions on earthquake preparedness should be updated and publicized for all citizens.
His instructions followed his discussion with government ministers on national preparedness in the event of a major earthquake.
Two of the four recent earthquakes hit Israel on Sunday. Both were centered near the Sea of Galilee and measured 3.6 on the Richter Scale.
Schools in the Tiberias area held earthquake drills on Monday, according to the Times of Israel.
