Google’s billion-dollar acquisition of Israeli navigation app developer Waze could face resistance from Israel’s Antitrust Authority, which has requested documents from Google Israel and Waze, Haaretz reported.
Google did not believe it needed Israeli approval of the deal, but the Antitrust Authority is now trying to determine if the merger does require its approval under Israeli law, according to Haaretz.
The U.S. looked into the deal, but decided not to delay it, according to Bloomberg. Antitrust authorities are still looking at the acquisition in the United Kingdom.
