The premise of James Franco’s role on season 2 of Mindy Kaling’s “The Mindy Project” is so funny on paper, we can only imagine how entertaining it’ll be on screen.
The Jewish actor, E! reports, will be playing the very Jewish part of a doctor, albeit one with the not very semitic-sounding (but very amazing) name. Dr. Paul Leotard is a former fashion model who has embarked on a career in obstetrics after falling off a runway at a fashion show and getting saved by, yes, a pregnant woman.
Assuming the new physician in town will also be Mindy’s new love interest? Don’t jump to any conclusions. Dr. Leotard is actually filling in at the practice for Mindy, who, if you recall the season finale, ended up going to Haiti with Pastor Casey.
“The Mindy Project” returns to Fox on September 17 at 9 p.m., so set your DVRs people.
