While Lena Dunham obviously has no problem with crazy sexual escapades being played out on cable TV, that doesn’t mean she wants to see those kinds of things going down in government.
On Thursday the “Girls” creator and star Tweeted her support for the opponents of Anthony Weiner and Eliot Spitzer, the two previously disgraced politicians currently running for office in New York City.
First she announced her backing of Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer for the comptroller job, instead of Eliot Spitzer.
“I’m a native New Yorker & I like my leaders with grit, integrity & executive realness. That’s why I support @stringer2013 for Comptroller,” she wrote.
Her next Tweet was for City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, who is running for mayor. “I’m passionate about the idea of the first woman mayor. Plus @ChrisCQuinn is tough, results oriented & can handle a City as complex as NY.”
