The film hasn’t even been in theaters for 24 hours, and Disney has already confirmed “Oz the great and Powerful” will have a sequel.

Despite the film’s somewhat negative reviews, screenwriter Mitchell Kapner has been tapped to write the sequel, according to the Hollywood Reporter, the original film’s cast, which include James Franco and Mila Kunis, seem to be on board.

“We’re all signed on for sequels,” Kunis told E! Online earlier this week, as the cast is eager to follow director Sam Raimi.

“Wherever Sam goes, I’ll go,” added Michelle Williams, who plays Glinda, the film’s “Good Witch.” “I’d do anything Sam asks me to do. I’d get stuck in quicksand with him.”

Predictions for the opening weekend of the Disney film is a gross $50-75 million, and makers are hoping it meets the 2010 film “Alice in Wonderland,” which hit a record-breaking $116 million during opening weekend.
