Selective On Human Rights

Rabbi Sid Schwarz’s essay regarding his organization, T’ruah, is very enlightening. (“A Rabbinic Call For Human Rights,” Opinion, Jan. 25).

Apparently T’ruah’s respect for human rights includes ignoring the free-enterprise system, ignoring freedom of speech and interfering with the internal policies of another country (Israel). Amazing that the organization seems to have ignored the slaughter of civilians in Syria, the ethnic cleansing of Christians in Egypt, the decades-long civil war in the Congo and the discrimination practiced against women and gays in many Muslim countries.

Perhaps their fight for human rights is rather selective.
