Beyonce has dropped out as Super Bowl halftime show performer after her lip-sync-gate and Robert Allan Zimmerman will become her replacement.

At least that’s the rumor former Rolling Stone editor Tim Heidecker posted on his Tumblr page.

“Here it is. My 4th Annual Super Bowl Half Time Show song leak. This one is from none other than Bob Dylan, who is replacing Beyonce who dropped out after her inauguration lip syncing scandal,” he wrote yesterday morning, posting this YouTube video of Dylan performing “Running Around the Clock,” which will supposedly be performed this Sunday at the Super Bowl.

No one else has yet to confirm the rumor, but Heidecker writes that the song, unreleased from Dylan’s 1983 “Infidels” album, makes sense as a Super Bowl performance, with the football metaphors and such.

We’re not buying it, especially since Team Beyonce has been posting nonstop photos of Queen B rehearsing for the big show, but in an ideal world, maybe the two will hop on stage together and muster up a rendition of “Run the World (Girls)?”
