Hasidic-turned-blonde reggae musician Matisyahu has been suffering from all sorts of kickback months after he shaved his beard.
Not only did he lose his facial hair, sidelocks, and the love of some Jewish fans, but apparently he’s lost his VIP status in the eyes of club bouncers too.
At the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah this past weekend, Matisyahu stood outside the TAO nightclub for some 10 minutes, unable to get in because the door managers had no idea who he was, according to the New York Post.
He finally gained access to the club when a friend recognized him and got him in.
Had he shown up in his old getup– black hat, coat, and straggly white beard– we’re confident the bouncers would have digged his outfit and ushered him in. Maybe it’s a sign, Matis?
