At least one yeshiva is so nervous about Chuck Hagel that it took the unusual step of sending out a message to its supporters, urging them to fight his nomination to lead the Pentagon.
In particular, the leaders of the Chofetz Chaim yeshiva in Queens (aka Yeshivas Rabbeinu Yisrael Meir HaKohen) wrote, it was important to put pressure on Chuck Schumer.
Apparently Schumer didn’t get the memo.
After meeting Monday with Hagel, Schumer issued a statement saying Hagel is kosher.
