“I must have cried four times just thinking about taking my parents to the Western Wall,” Leichtling said. “This is an opportunity that never ever would have presented itself any other way.”
Here’s a feel-good follow-up to our August story about the El Al Ticket snafu that had flights going for as low as $330 round trip from New York to Tel Aviv. (Days after the fluke, El Al announced that they would make good on the mistake fares.)
Miriam Leichtling snagged three tickets before the bargain basement prices were pulled from online travel sites, and posted this photo of her parents’ first visit to the Kotel to Instagram on Wednesday. In a word, Leichtling’s dad summed up the trip so far as "fabulous."
"It’s cool when you round a bend in the road and you hear your dad or mom say "Wow," and to you, it’s just another vista of the Jerusalem skyline," said Leichtling, who has assumed tour guide duties for her folks.
"You forget what it’s like the first time you see it," she added.
