The Israel State Archives blog has shared a Chicken Soup recipe by former Israeli prime minister Golda Meir.
But is it fit for consumption?
[[READMORE]] Despite the stray Hebrew marking on the top right of the document embedded below, the recipe was never classified. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette published it on Dec. 4, 1974.
In 1978, "Golda’s soup" was even being considered for mass production by Koor industries.
But according to Howard Kleinberg, managing editor of the Miami News in 1969, Golda didn’t even care for her own recipe:
"She told me she didn’t make a very good chicken soup, but her son thinks she makes a very good gefilte fish."
We hope Golda was just being modest.
Or that she tweaked the recipe.
