Last week we reported that one of this blog’s most favorite couples, Jason Segel and Michelle Williams, finally moved in together — into an apartment building that was once a coffee warehouse in Red Hook, Brooklyn.
It appears that the arrangement was very, very short term.
The reason, unfortunately, being Hurricane Sandy.
The couple’s apartment building was underwater after the storm hit Monday night, and, according to the Huffington Post, a FEMA truck was seen outside the building, dumping belongings and valuables that were ruined in the flood. In addition, a grocery store located underneath the warehouse was “forced to dump nearly all of its contents.” According to TIME, a “stench of meat beginning to rot hung over the [store’s] muddied rear entrance.”
And yes, Segel and Williams’ new place was one of an unthinkable number of houses affected by the terrible storm.
However, the good news is that the two are safe, according to a friend of both.
