While the net was buzzing about Kristen Wiig’s beautiful “Saturday Night Live” send-off, which featured Mick Jagger, Jon Hamm, and other cast members of present and past, another cast member said goodbye after a seven-year “SNL” career – Andy Samberg.
Though it is not yet official that Samberg is leaving, it appears to be the case that he will join Wiig and Jason Sudeikis in pursuit of a career outside Studio 8H of 30 Rockefeller Plaza.
Samberg chose to recreate the SNL digital short that gave him his initial fame in 2005 – Lazy Sunday. The video, “Lazy Sunday 2,” features Samberg and fellow cast-member Chris Parnell, but this time instead of going to watch the “Chronic(what)les of Narnia,” the two are hitting Broadway’s “Sister Act.”
The last line of the song had Samberg talking about how he began his rapping in New York, “And that’s how I’ma finish it.”
The video is hilarious. Samberg and his goofy humor will be missed.
