Remember back in 2006 when Mel Gibson was arrested for drunk driving and said the Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world? Yeah, well. That sort of came back to bite him in the butt, as Gibson has been irrevocably disgraced in Hollywood and is now known as the poster child for modern anti-Semitism.
However, the incident wasn’t a total loss. Some have come away a little richer and a lot smugger than before, most notably James Mee. Mee is the Jewish deputy officer who arrested Gibson and caught his psychotic rant on audiotape. He then filed a discrimination lawsuit against L.A. County, saying the county had blamed Mee for the incident because he is Jewish. (I know, it’s weird, I don’t get it either. Why not just sue Gibson and call it a day?).
Anyway, Mee apparently struck a settlement deal this week. His attorney Etan Z. Lorant (co-counsel is Yael Trock… someone likes to keep it in the fam) told TMZ that “Deputy Mee did not file his lawsuit for money. He filed his lawsuit for the principle of what had happened to him. He strongly believes in his case.”
