JERUSALEM (JTA) — Israeli police arrested three men in a suspected pedophile ring that is alleged to have abused at least 70 children in a haredi Orthodox Jerusalem neighborhood.

With the three men this week, six men now have been arrested for the abuse in the Nachlaot neighborhood.

The first complaint in the case came in 2010, though the abuse is believed to have started as early as 2006. After trying to deal with the problem internally, parents began coming forward last summer with accusations, according to reports.

Jerusalem.net reported earlier this month that more than 100 children were physically and sexually abused, and frightened into silence, by some 30 adult males, residents of the insular neighborhood. Many suspects continue to walk freely in the neighborhood, according to the website, a division of Ynet.
