Natalie Portman’s fiance (and baby daddy) Benjamin Millepied just announced his retirement from the New York City Ballet where he had been a principal ,dancer since 2002. The French-born dancer, who is 34, recently became a father when Portman gave birth to the couple’s son, Aleph.
Does this mean that Millipied will become a stay-at-home dad while Portman resumes her film career? Well, not exactly.
Millepied will continue his work as a choreographer with the ballet company. In fact, it was during the course of his work as a choreographer that he met Portman during the filming of her Oscar-winning turn in Black Swan.
He is also working on dance for a new musical that will be written, in part, by Trey Anastasio of Phish fame. [Arts Beat]
