Sesame Street's Grober and a Jewish friend (Shalom Sesame)

PBS and Sesame Workshop announced the lineup for the 42nd season of the children’s classic TV show Sesame Street, premiering September 26th on PBS Kids.

This year, dozens of celebrities will help engage America’s children in the studies of math and science as part of the STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education program.

The impressive lineup includes several friendly Jewish celebrities who will direct you to get to America’s favorite street.

The Jewish celebrities who will be schmoozing with Big Bird, Oscar and Elmo are Mila Kunis, Seth Rogen, Liev Schreiber, Andy Samberg and Jason Schwartzman.

In addition, Amar’e Stoudemire of the New York Knicks, who recently started looking into his Jewish roots, will also join the fuzzy monsters.

Sesame Street has featured Jewish characters in the past, the most famous being Mr. Hooper, who was played by Will Lee until his death in 1982.

In addition, the American and Israeli production companies co-produced Shalom Sesame in the early 90s and also in 2010.
