I’m no historian when it comes to these things. But hat I can tell you is that Shlomo Carlebach started out as a Chabad emissary; his daughter married a fine young man from Philadelphia, whose father, David Katchen, was the cantor at a Conservative shul. And Cantor Katchen used to sing a mean national anthem at playoff games. OK, he’s not Chabad; and it was the Akiba Hebrew Academy Cougars, not the Sixers.Still, Cantor Katchen was great.
