WASHINGTON (JTA) — A J Street delegation met with Obama administration officials and Congress members.
The J Street Leadership Forum, which drew to Washington 80 members of the dovish pro-Israel group’s board, local chairmen, advisers and student leaders, met Tuesday with Jacob Walles, a deputy assistant secretary of state for Near East affairs, as well as with Israeli U.S. Ambassador Michael Oren and Ma’en Areikat, the Palestine Liberation Organization’s envoy in Washington.
On Wednesday, the group had meetings planned with Congress members, including Rep. Howard Berman (D-Calif.), the chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee.
