Van Jones, the "Green Jobs" adviser who quit the White House this weekend, had an Israel problem.

As  I noted in my earlier post, Jones quit because of his — he says inadvertent — signature on a 9-11 "Truther" petition.

Power Line uncovered a talk and music CD called, "Wartimes, reports from the opposition," hosted by Mumia Abu Jamal, the activist on death row. (H/T to Commentary and  Marty Peretz.)

It appears to be from 2002 — certainly during the previous administration’s "War on Terror." Jones not only appears deeply immersed in Palestinian liberation rhetoric, he embraces one-statism.

What we want to see at this point is the rights of the Palestinian people being respected. And at this point, the end of the occupation, the right of return of the Palestinian people. These are the critical dividing lines, global dividing lines, questions of human rights. We have to be here. No American would put up with an Israeli-style occupation of their hometown for 53 days, let alone 54 years.

"54 years" dates his problem with Israel to 1948, not 1967.

Power Line, which says Jones produced the CD, posted this on Saturday; Jones quit Saturday night; you gotta wonder if it was a final straw.
