WASHINGTON (JTA) — Jewish organizations are among the sponsors of a national call-in and Web cast on health care reform featuring President Obama.

Titled "40 Minutes for Health Reform," the Aug. 19 call is part of the "40 Days of Health Reform" campaign sponsored by a multitude of religious groups and faith coalitions, including the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism, the Jewish Council for Public Affairs and National Council of Jewish Women.

"This call will be a powerful incentive to mobilize even greater support," Rabbi David Saperstein, the director of the Religious Action Center, said on a conference call Monday announcing the campaign’s upcoming efforts.

They include a television ad running on cable stations across the country, a "Nationwide Health Care Sermon Weekend" Aug. 28-30 and a major event in Washington in mid-September.

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this news brief incorrectly identified the United Jewish Communities as a sponsor of the call.
