Harel Dahan, 23, fell into a pit of waste material at the Regal Recycling plant in Queens and succumbed to the toxic fumes, according to news reports. Dahan’s father, Shlomo, died trying to help his son.
A worker who tried to save the Dahans also perished.
"He was a very sweet guy," Abe Rosenthal, a friend of Shlomo’s, told the New York Post.
