JERUSALEM (JTA) — State prosecutors have dropped charges against an Israeli accused of shooting at a Palestinian family in Hebron.
Ze’ev Braude of Kiryat Arba injured two Palestinians during the evacuation of the Peace House, also known as the House of Contention, in December 2008. The incident, in which Braude shot the men at close range, was captured on videotape by a volunteer for the B’tselem human rights organization.
The Jerusalem District prosecutors dropped the indictment after the state said it would not disclose some evidence identified as classified information.
Braude has been under house arrest since the incident.
