WASHINGTON (JTA) — "The Great Schlep," featuring Sarah Silverman, won the Webby Award for best political video.
The video, in which the Jewish comedian urged young Jews to visit their grandparents in Florida and convince them to vote for Barack Obama, was produced by the Jewish Council for Education and Research.
Millions watched the video on the Internet, and it received much national media attention during the presidential campaign as reports circulated that elderly Jews were wary of voting for the Democratic candidate.
Silverman also was honored as the Webby’s best actress for her performance in the "The Great Schlep" as well as a music video titled "I’m F***ing Matt Damon."
The Webby Award honors excellence on the Internet.
