JERUSALEM (JTA) — An Israeli man injured in a Haifa suicide bombing died of his injuries seven years to the day of the attack.
Shimon Shiran, 57, died Saturday after seven years in a rehabilitation hospital. He suffered from severe brain damage following the Passover 2002 attack on the Matza restaurant. A daughter, 17, was killed in the attack and his wife was seriously injured.
Shiran’s death raises the death toll in the attack to 16. The anniversary of the attack was marked Sunday.
He is survived by his wife and two children.
