JERUSALEM (JTA) — Tony Blair told Israel’s new prime minister that a Palestinian state is the only way to achieve peace in the Middle East.
"The only solution that will work is two states living side by side in peace," the Middle East Quartet envoy said after meeting with Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem.
Netanyahu has not specifically endorsed the creation of a Palestinian state.
Blair encouraged Netanyahu to continue peace negotiations toward a Palestinian state in tandem with instituting efforts to boost the West Bank economy, Reuters reported.
