JERUSALEM (JTA) — A group of Orthodox Jews will march through an Arab-Israeli town to show solidarity with its residents.
Grass-roots Orthodox organizations are scheduled to hold a solidarity march Sunday in Umm al-Fahm in honor of the upcoming holiday of Passover, which the activists call in a news release "the Festival of Freedom and respect for human dignity." Rioting broke out in the town during a nationalist march by extreme right-wing demonstrators last week.
The New Israel Fund is planning Sunday’s event.
Before the march, Arab residents of the community are set to distribute flowers to Jewish motorists.
