JERUSALEM (JTA) — At least four Kassam rockets hit civilian areas in southern Israel.
No injuries or damage were reported in the strikes Sunday morning, according to Israeli media.
The Israel Air Force hit an arms storage facility in Gaza City and two smuggling tunnels on the Gaza-Egypt border near Rafah on Saturday night. The airstrikes were in response to six rockets fired that day at Israel, according to the Israel Defense Forces.
The Air Force hit another tunnel earlier Sunday, according to reports.
"As the sole authority in the Gaza Strip, Hamas bears full responsibility for all terror originating within its area of control," read a statement from the IDF spokesperson’s office. "The IDF will continue to respond to any attempts to destabilize Israel’s South."
