JERUSALEM (JTA) — Israeli mineral water producers have stopped filling bottles after discovering that rainfall may have changed the mineral concentration.
First the Mei Eden company found during routine inspection that there was an increase in impurities in the water from the wellspring where its water originates, the Jerusalem Post reported. Neviot, Israel’s largest mineral water producer, then tested its wellspring and found the same results.
The companies said that products now on store shelves are safe.
