JERUSALEM (JTA) — A Jordanian military field hospital was established in the Gaza Strip.
Israel and Jordan coordinated the establishment of the hospital adjacent to the Shifa Hospital in Gaza City.
Some 33 trucks with approximately 210 medical staff and equipment crossed into Israel at the Allenby Bridge and traveled in a convoy to the Gaza Strip through the Erez crossing, according to the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories spokesman.
Meanwhile, Israel’s Health Ministry and Magen David Adom decided to close the emergency clinic at the Erez crossing set up to treat Palestinians wounded during Israel’s Gaza operation after only 10 days, Ynet reported. The clinic will be closed because Palestinian patients are not coming to seek treatment.
