(JTA) — A barrage of rockets fired from the Gaza Strip into Israel injured five people, including a pregnant woman who was hospitalized.
All five were injured by longer-range rockets launched Friday: The pregnant woman was injured by a direct hit on her home in Ashkelon, according to the Ha’aretz newspaper; two Israelis were wounded in Ashdod, one lightly and one moderately, the newspaper said; and two were wounded lightly in Kiryat Gat.
At least 15 rockets hit Israel Friday as negotiators in Cairo reportedly drew closer to a cease-fire.
A 7-year old boy was stable after sustaining serious head injuries in a rocket attack on Beersheba on Thursday, Ha’aretz reported.
